As someone whose carpet often seems a bit too worn out and stained, but still with specks of gold thanks to restoration from a loving Father I hear you.Mandynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8354279212912469509.post-70737419831098259872013-01-11T21:45:07.932+00:002013-01-11T21:45:07.932+00:00A CARPET Metaphor that truly leads towards an &quo... A CARPET Metaphor that truly leads towards an "unrolling" of life. A person sometimes doesn't want to UNROLL THE CARPET. They are afraid of what they might see. And yet, unless we unroll our carpet...we'll never know the secrets contained in the patterns, the colors. We might even trip over the rolled up carpet lying in the corner, And for me...I an ready to take a ride on a 'flying carpet' that God has given me to look into the future--my reason for living.

I just couldn't help getting into you analogy or metaphor of a ROLLED UP CARPET and the unrolling of it. Thanks for your transparency and maybe even a "carpet buddy."Mel Thompsonhttp://theworddetective.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8354279212912469509.post-22860686550220275002013-01-11T19:17:31.276+00:002013-01-11T19:17:31.276+00:00Beautifully written once more, Helen. Because I was such an ornery kid and student I immediately thought of the many times I got called on the carpet for something I did to upset someone. I have kicked a few carpets in my day. Once again you have inspired me to think about something to challenge my readers with. Though there are traces of the beauty that once was there and still can be as God cleans little bits of it up from time to time. Then I marvel - is This my life? I thought it was That.
So, lumpy, thinning, fading and lacking in lustre as it often appears; my carpet is unrolling just as it should when I see God weaving His golden threads through it.
Loved this post!
